Aware and St Nicholas’ Schola Cantorum need your support

Heart in Hand

Christmas this year will be different, but we will continue to be united in the love and connection we have with family and friends. While we cannot all be home or travel to be with those dear to us this year we carry each other in our thoughts, happy memories and hopes for the future. So this is our gift to you this Christmas if you haven’t got to visit us or your friends and family, why not send them a message and shine a light in their corner of the country or the world.

May we always celebrate the bonds of friendship, family, love and community. While we are apart we can still connect in thoughts, prayers hope for the future and memories of old.

The light shines in the darkness and the darkness did not overcome it .

So we offer you the opportunity to light up the map and light up our hearts and be assured of the Christmas message of hope.

As we light up your life, we also shine a light on the work of ‘Aware’. This will be a Christmas where many people need to reach out for support, so we are proud that all monies raised in this campaign will be shared equally with ‘Aware’ .

Aware

Give a gift that lasts this Christmas – the gift of hope. With a donation to Aware, your gift of hope will help us be there every day for people who need support with their mental health this Christmas and beyond.

Aware undertakes to create a society where people affected by stress, depression, bipolar disorder and mood related conditions are understood, supported, free from stigma, and are encouraged to access appropriate therapies.  Aware has a nationwide presence which has saved many lives and has, for countless others, eased the suffering and distress that depression can bring.   Aware’s message is one of hope: recovery is possible. Early intervention,as well as ongoing support are very important.

Aware’s charity number is 20013189. | https://www.aware.ie/support/support-line/

St. Nicholas Schola Cantorum was founded in 2012, a modern reimagining of the ancient college of singers, established here in 1486 and which gives the church its special title. In 2012, the Rector, Select Vestry and parish community decided to revive the ancient college, honouring the church’s musical heritage but in a new dynamic that reaches out to all the people of Galway. St. Nicholas Schola Cantorum secures the musical future of the church and provides an invaluable musical and educational resource in the wider community.    St Nicholas’ is registered as a charity CHY 7051 and with the Charities Regulatory Authority under number 20014360.

Our thanks to Galway City Council for supporting this initiative.
